Bell Cornwall Recruitment has an amazing opportunity for an experienced HR professional to join a expanding family run luxury manufacturing company in Birmingham as their new Head of HR.

The firm – currently number just over 100 staff – has grown significantly over recent years to the point where they are now in a position to appoint a Head of HR to be responsible for the day to day delivery of all aspects of HR across the business. Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Coaching managers and being their trusted advisors, not just on people issues but on business decisions and direction.
  • Supporting the business in driving and managing change
  • Supporting organisational development
  • Supporting managers in hiring new members of staff
  • Providing support to the business throughout the employee lifecycle from onboarding through to performance cycles, appraisals and departure.
  • Managing the onboarding of all external candidates from induction planning onwards.
  • Updating contracts and handbooks as employment legislation changes
  • Working with the senior leadership team to source suitable training and development opportunities, monitor training progress and analyse the effectiveness of training and development initiatives.

Successful candidates will ideally be fully CIPD qualified and have a good amount experience in a generalist advisory role, ideally from professional services.

You will have a good understanding and practical experience of complex ER and L&D delivery. In addition, we are looking for someone with a well-developed commercial acumen, with the ability to contribute to the wider business and HR agenda.

  • HR Professional qualification
  • Wealth of generalist HR experience
  • Sound knowledge of employment law
  • Sound judgement to deliver commercial and pragmatic solutions
  • Ability to work on your own initiative with confidence in your approach to advising on HR matters
  • Have a strong desire to continually improve HR processes and procedures.
