Job Title: Payroll Assistant – 12 Month FTC

Salary: £23,000 to £26,000

Location: Norwich

Bell Cornwall Recruitment are pleased to be hiring a Payroll Assistant for a fantastic Legal firm in Norwich. The company has a fantastic team and are looking for someone who has Payroll experience to join their fantastic company.

The Candidates responsibilities:

  • Inputting, processing and administering all aspects of payroll and benefits
  • Assisting with the checking of monthly payroll for sign off
  • Undertaking thorough checking of payroll
  • Liaising with third parties such as HMRC, Benefex and P11D Organiser & uploading/exporting accurate data to or from their software
  • Assisting in finalising the tax year end in accordance with all timetables and deadlines
  • Interpreting and applying all internal policies and Government Legislation to ensure payroll transactions are made in accordance with them
  • Maintaining payroll processing documentation, spreadsheets and guidance notes
  • Supporting in the accurate recording and submission of all statutory information (such as RTI)
  • Dealing with any payroll queries and offering guidance and assistance to employees and managers
  • Working collaboratively with the wider HR team
  • Supporting the effective implementation of annual payroll system upgrades and testing new functionality

Skills Needed:

  • Experience within a similar role is necessary.
  • General MS, IT and email/internet knowledge is essential.
  • Numerical competency.
  • Exceptional communication skills are necessary as communicating with clients and colleagues is a key part of the role.
  • An individual who is self-managed and confident in setting and prioritising their own work agenda.
